Margaret had several accomplishments during her school days in Alabama. She won the statewide spelling contest in 1935, graduated from Beatrice High School in 1941 and tied for Valedictorian.
After high school she attended Business School in Mobile, Ala. After completion of Business School she returned to Vredenburg, Ala and worked in the office of the saw mill.
Margaret married William Sadler “Mac” McGraw on June 1, 1944. While Sadler was in the Navy she moved to Pensacola and worked at the local paper mill.
After Sadler was out the Navy they moved to Pensacola to start a family. After her children were in middle school she worked at Belleview Elementary School as the secretary for 26 years from 1961 to 1987.
She enjoyed traveling. She went on a tour of the Holy Land in Israel and the pyramids in Egypt with Myra, Jack/Thelma and Stephen in 1984. She also went on tours to Canada and Nova Scotia in 1988 and the Western part of the US in 1989.
During 2014 she moved to the North Atlanta area to be closer to her daughter, Gail, and granddaughter – Nicole. She spent 3 ½ years at The Mansions of Sandy Springs and then moved to The Georgian Lakeside. She passed away peacefully in her apartment with family at her side.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Sadler McGraw, Son – William (Billy) Boothe McGraw, Mother – Theda Boothe, Father – Henry Boothe, Sister – Myra Haskins, Sister/Brother in Law – Bessie Bob Edge/Ewing Edge.
She is survived by her daughter Gail McGraw Parks/Michael Parks, granddaughter – Nicole Eubanks/Bryan Eubanks, great grandchildren – Caleb Eubanks, Connor Eubanks and Paige Eubanks; Nephew – Jack Haskins and his son Stephen Haskins/Asma.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 25th at 11 am at St Mark United Methodist Church with Reverend Dan Baughman officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Connor Eubanks, Caleb Eubanks, JP Caballero, and Doug Heatwole.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Mark United Methodist Church, Samaritans Purse, International Fellowship of Christians and Jews or the charity of your choice.
