88 years of life – Passed from this earth March 12-2020, Pensacola, Florida. Born September 21, 1931 in Laurel Hill, Florida. To the late James L. Spurlin and Emma Fannie Spurlin and is preceded in death by her daughter Deborah D. Duvall. Mrs. Duvall leaves behind her husband of 68 years Raymond L. Duvall Lt. Col. USMC Ret. Daughter Stephanie A. Duvall, Son Ryan L. Duvall and wife Summer, and six beautiful grandchildren Rachel Stringfellow and partner Brandon Tylka, Nicolas Duvall, Patrick Duvall, Mathew Duvall, Kathryn Duvall, Ciara Duvall and one precious great granddaughter, Aurora Tylka.
Mrs. Duvall “Fran” Graduate from Pensacola High School class of 1949 and worked at the Court House and Newberry’s where she met her future husband Raymond “Ray” after pinning his wings in October they were married on November 2, 1951 in Pensacola, Florida. Then moved to Corpus Christi, Texas. Then stationed in Cherry Point, North Carolina where daughter Deborah was born in Feburary 1953 returning to Pensacola, Florida in 1954 while her husband served in Korea. Daughter Stephanie was born in August 1960 Mrs. Duvall remained in Pensacola while her husband served in Okinawa. Relocating to Virginia in 1964 where her husband was stationed and served another tour in Vietnam. Then served in HMX-1 Presidents Squadron. Until her husband retired in 1969. Son Ryan was born January 1971 returning to Pensacola, Florida in 1972 where she enjoyed a life filled with the love and joys of family and friends. Mrs. Duvall loved being with and working with her children. From room mother, scout mom, working on plays, with the band and sports teams at school to coaching her sons traveling soccer team. Mrs. Duvall “Fran” also loved to travel, camping, and nature – Yellowstone National Park was one of her favorite places to visit. She enjoyed sharing, showing and teaching her children about this beautiful country and its amazing history. Mrs. Duvall loved going to concerts and stage shows with her children the Rolling Stones concert and the Musical CATS were two of her favorites. Mrs. Duvall had many Hobbies including collecting antique glassware, owls and hummingbirds, but her most favorite thing to do was just relax on the couch with her beloved cats and watch her westerns.
Mrs. Duvall passed on to her children and grandchildren a love for family, nature, the arts, and life.
Mrs. Duvall, Fran, Nana, Mom her strength and love will be irreplaceably missed but lives on in our hearts and precious memories “she promised to keep a close eye on us from above and be only a thought and prayer away till we are together once again”.
