Pensacola, FL - John Leo Desposito, 81, was born December 9, 1940, in Pensacola, Florida, to Angelo John Desposito and Ina Margaret Bell.
John had three beautiful children in which his love ran deep. He worked hours at Kelson Electric as well as Shields Electric to support his family. Eventually, he began his career for the Department of Defense. He spent 27 years in service, retiring as Superintendent of Maintenance at the Pensacola Navy Base. During his time working for the Department of Defense, he spent time in the Philippines where he met and fell in love with his wife Ophelia of 30 years. After retiring, he spent his hours playing golf, being his grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader, and sharing his electrical wisdom to all.
John was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Silcox.
John is survived by his wife Ophelia Desposito, sister; Audrey Belanger, brother; A. J Desposito (Martha) sons; John Desposito, Steve Desposito (Jennifer), Jjeriko Ragadio Lanada, and JR Ragadio Lanada, daughter; Queenie Lanada, grandchildren; Ashley Monn (Marcus), Glenn Desposito (Kristee), Amanda Myers (Steven), Kris Desposito, Mackenzie Desposito, Cameron Silcox (Rosalyn), Chase Desposito, Jordan Bonney, and 8 great-grandchildren.
John’s last moments were being held by those that loved him most, peacefully leaving this world on October 14, 2022.
Public visitation will be held Thursday, October 20, 2022, 10:00-10:30 am, at Eastern Gate Memorial; funeral service to immediately follow.
