In recent years, Lee took over the family plumbing business and was the 2nd generation of Stewart Plumbing, which his dad started in 1975. Prior to that, he had worked in the hospitality industry where he made many friends between Orange Beach, AL and Rosemary Beach, FL. When Lee was not working, he could be found on the golf course, fishing, or walking his beloved dogs.
Lee never met a stranger and he was quick to make you laugh. There is not a single person who was in his life who does not have a funny story about Lee. Lee was kind, compassionate, and always thought of ways to help others. Lee loved animals and was always bringing food to stray dogs or cats or feeding the neighborhood ducks.
The family would like to offer sincere thanks to the Baptist Hospital 3rd floor nurses and staff. Their care and attentiveness in his last days is greatly appreciated. The family would also like to thank Doctors Drake, Jafri, and Bennett for the care they provided. A very special thank you is owed to the amazing people at Covenant Hospice. These people are truly angels among us. Thank you, Peggy, Jim, TK, and especially Paula for helping us give Lee the goodbye we promised him and that he so desperately deserved. Thank you so very much for bringing him and his family peace.
Lee is preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents (George and Cille Stewart), his Maternal Grandparents (Guy and Daisy Durant), Uncle Eddie Lee Stewart, and Aunt Frances Durant. Lee is survived by the most loving and caring parents in this world, George Lee and Debbie Stewart, a sister, Kellie Stidham (Chris), his lifelong best friend Shane Bridwell, who is more like a family member than a friend, nieces and goddaughters Harper Lee and Olivia, niece Caroline, nephew Jackson, and many, many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends. Lee also leaves behind his beloved Boxers: Gypsy, Lola, and Baxter.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Oak Lawn Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday August 12, 2023 at 10 AM CST.
In lieu of flowers the Family asks that donations be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society or the ASPCA.
