Kristifer Cain Carter

For many years, he worked in the bar industry as a bouncer & touched many lives He was known as “Big Steve” (Stephen Gilliard) during that time, until he was able to change his name legally in 2003. He was highly regarded by dancers, patrons, employees, & the bar owners. He began his bouncer/security career at Babe’s the night he turned 18 & found one of his callings in life….being a protector. It never mattered who needed help or what kind of help, he was there. He enjoyed the night life, not because of the industry itself, but the lights, music & people. He was often sought out for private security work. The industry will never be the same without “Big Steve”.

As the years passed, he met & married, Elizabeth Gilliard (Kat) & they had 2 beautiful children, Christian (Chris) Carter & Catalina (Cat) Carter. After divorcing, they co-parented together for many years. His was just the most amazing father to his babies.

In 2008, he met his current wife, Jessica (Sears) Carter & they married in 2012. They blended their families to become one unit, as family is the most important thing to K.C. & Jess. Jess’ daughter’s, Farrah Davis & Cassidy Davis became his daughters as well. He loved fishing, go karting, playing video games, cooking, loved South Park, tinkering, could fix anything, loved working on his vehicles, & most of all loved spending any minute he could with his family.

He was loved by anyone he spoke to & never met a stranger. He is & was the best friend anyone could ever want or dream of having. He loved his kitties, Gypsy, Samantha, Ghost Ghost, Miss.Moo Moo, & Storm, who miss him terribly as well. He also leaves behind many “adopted kids”. His contagious laugh could be heard a mile away & is missed. His hugs are missed. His sarcasim is missed. He is & was one of a kind man, who is missed & will always be remembered & missed by those who love him.

Survivors: Jessica (Jess) Carter, wife; Christian (Chris) Carter, son; Catalina (Cat) Carter, daughter, Farrah Davis, daughter; Cassidy Davis, daughter; Rosemary Gilliard, mother; Elizabeth Gilliard, ex-wife; Sharon McNorton, aunt; a sister & several brothers; several cousins & their children.

K.C.’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 3:00pm at the Rex Theatre, 18 N. Palafox St., Pensacola, FL, 32502. Casual dress is acceptable.
