Joy Bell Luke, 85, of Burlington, North Carolina passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021. Joy was born January 1, 1936 in Alamance, North Carolina to Eddie Harris Bunton and Mandie Shoe. Joy was the youngest of eight children.
Joy started work as a waitress, and later in life she opened her own florist shop “Flowers by Joy”. She loved to make people happy with her flowers and arrangements. Joy could always be found working with her flowers.
Joy is preceded in death by her parents, her 7 siblings, her husband and 3 children: Denny H. Vestal, Theresa L. Vestal and Terry O. Vestal.
She is survived by her daughter Cheryl V. Long (Jackie) of Burlington, NC. She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren: Kevin S. Vestal and Shaun A. Vestal both of Pensacola, Fl., Tristan N. Long (Ashley) of Chapel Hill, NC. and Tanner N Long (Mallory) of Holly Springs, NC. She also leaves 3 great grandchildren to cherish her memory, Payton Kruger, Emerson Long and Arden Long.
The family has entrusted Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home with arrangements. A Visitation for Joy Bell Luke will be held Friday, November 19, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home, 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32534, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 PM.
Mrs. Joy will be laid to rest in Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens.
