In 1969, the family relocated to Miami Beach, where John spent his formative years before embarking on a distinguished career of service and teaching.
John's adventurous spirit led him to enlist in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served for 14 years. His assignments took him across Europe and the United States, fostering a deep appreciation for history and photography, always capturing his travels with his beloved Nikon.
Upon returning to civilian life, John settled in Avon Park, Florida, where he and his wife, Wanda, raised their daughter, Christine.
He pursued his passion for education, earning a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. He dedicated himself to nurturing young minds teaching at Avon Elementary in Avon Park, FL and C.A. Weis, and Global Elementary in Pensacola, where he eventually retired.
Beyond his professional achievements, John cherished his time outdoors. Whether casting a line in freshwater streams or enjoying the serenity of Johnson’s Beach, where he could often be found fishing or relaxing with Wanda by his side. Evenings were spent in the company of his dogs, meticulously designing sailboat plans in his garage.
John's profound love for his students, colleagues, and especially Wanda and Christine, defined his life. His kindness, dedication, and comedic spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. John leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will be forever treasured by his family.
