Joe Edward Stokes, 72 of Pensacola passed away on November 15, 2014 surrounded by family. He served in the United States Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran. He loved spending time with his family, fishing and playing bingo. Survived by his daughters Becky & Danny Tompkins of Greenville, SC, Cathy & Rick Foster, Gail & Myron Pitts, Teresa & Todd Harvey all of Pensacola. Grandchildren Amanda & Jason Childress, Edward & Christa Tompkins, Amy Foster, Missy, Heather, Amber & Zachary Pitts, Bradley & Bryan Harvey, Great Grandchildren Mason & Gracie Tompkins, Landon & Levi Childress; brother Ronnie & Sharon Leonard, sisters Jackie & Benny Raines & Toni Leonard and number other family members and friends. Joe was a loving Daddy, Papa and Poppy and will be missed dearly. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Pat and his parents. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5pm – 7pm at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home 1985 W. Nine Mile Rd with funeral services beginning at 10am Thursday.
