Mrs. Thatcher was born May 12, 1932 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to George Edgar Roberts and Cordelia Smith Roberts. She worked for Manna Food Bank in Pensacola for a period of time and was an artist. Joan enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting, oil painting and handcrafts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Hamilton Roberts; sister, Evelyn Elizabeth Scott and granddaughter, Kristina Kirkland.
She is survived by her children, David Justin Thatcher, Carol Ann Kirkland and Margaret Joan Kolbas (Mike); grandchildren, April, Addison, Brett, Christopher and Ellen.
