Jerry Henderson, Sr., 80 years old, met his Savior face to face on Monday, August 24, 2020. He was married to his life-long love, Rosa, both natives of Pensacola, FL. Their 61st wedding anniversary would be Friday, August 28th. He worked at St. Regis/International Paper Mill until his retirement. There, he was respected for his knowledge and work ethic and known for his sense of humor and camaraderie. He was faithful to God, his family, and his church. He cherished his service as a Sunday school teacher, Usher, and Deacon at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, coaching his children’s sports teams, and was an avid reader. He was a Florida “Gator Fan” and enjoyed NASCAR racing. Family time was most important and he entertained all of us with his “back in the day” stories.
Jerry Henderson Sr. is survived by his loving wife, Rosa; his sister, Sharon Henderson Horn; his children: Kim Godfrey and Jerry Henderson Jr. (Phebe Jo); five grandchildren: Linda Henderson, Jerry William Henderson, III (Will), Mallory Godfrey, Meredith (Dennis) Harrison, and Meghan (Kenny) Harrison; and three great- grandchildren: Carter John Harrison, Mia Rose Harrison, and Aiden Brett Henderson.
His Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church; Visitation at 10:00 with Service following at 11:00.
