Jerry Glen “JB“ ladies man, motorcycle, misfit outlaw, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022 surrounded by family and friends that loved him.
Jerry enjoyed many years living by his own rules even if it got him into trouble a time or two. He had a lifelong love affair with deviled eggs, snackcakes, butter bread whiskey, motorcycles, women and friends, he was extremely proud of his sisters Penny, Tammy and Kathy Bankston.
He was preceded in death by his mother Edith Mae Stacy and son Sean Enos Bankston. Jerry gave his father James Oide Bankston a never ending roller coaster ride as a teenager, never applying the advice that he got, but used his experience to help teach any and all that would listen to “JB‘s “words of wisdom.
Jerry was loved deeply by his stepmother Millie Bankston and often commented how grateful he was his old man found her. JB, writer of poetry and wearer of X-rated tattoos. You could always find JB at the shop taking things apart that would never get put back together again, a perfectionist when it came to painting or mechanic work, if it wasn’t perfect you couldn’t take it. Stitched together with the best of intentions. JB, lover of loyalty just don’t ask the ladies about that one! Jerry, uncle to all the neighborhood kids that grew up to quote “I would never be who I am today if it weren’t for him” Jerry could win the lottery and still live in a tent outside on his property.
Jerry is survived by his sons Alan and Kenny Kreis, Jerry Bankston Junior and Christopher Bankston. Jerry is also survived by a whole lot of grand-babies and great grandbabies that spent many of days treasure hunting on that old property he called his castle. Jerry, that affectionately called his daughter Misty Bankston “doll face“ and would curl up next to her as she slept when she was a little girl, just as she crawled up next to him in his final days whispering I’m ok, your ok, until he went to his final resting place. Because of his irrational fear of a funeral where everyone would either be crying or his ladies fighting over him, we will hold a celebration of life on Saturday June 25th 2022 the location will be determined this week and we will announce the final details.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.oaklawnfunerals.com for the Bankston family.
