Janet was a hard worker and always did the best work possible. She was one of the first people I met at PJC when I registered for classes in 1996. Later she became my administrative assistant. You never had to worry about anything when Janet was on the job. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Our prayers and thoughts go out to her family and friends.

Janet and I hung out together in high school. We spent many a weekends hanging out. I will never forget that 
BIG brown car she drove! We called it the boat. I had not seen Janet in years until I saw her at the lawn mower races. That is when she told me about her health. I was saddened to hear her news. But Janet had always been a strong lady. She lived and loved for racing. She will be missed by many. RIP Janet.

Janet was a wonderful woman.  I have never met a more lovely and just plain old nice person.
She was truly one of a kind and I will miss her.
My deepest condolences to her husband and family.

Beautiful, gracious, friendly, smiling, helpful, strong, humble, competitive... just a few words that come to mind when I think of Janet.
"The Lord is my shepherd."  You are in His flock now, rest in peace, Janet.  I am honored to have known you.

I will always remember Janet as a lovely, sweet and very helpful Secretary to us in the Physical Sciences Department at PJC (now Pensacola State) from the
late 1980's to the early 1990's after which she went to work at the Advanced Technology Department. She had a great sense of humor and always had a
very cheerful disposition. It is tragic that she was taken from this world so prematurely. I will cherish her memory and will keep her in my prayers forever.

Janet always fought the good fight and not only finished the race, but usually finished in first place.  She always won with humility and lost with grace; she was the epitome of what the racing community is all about.  It was my honor to know her and call her my friend.  Heaven has quite a racing team now, but we miss them so much.  Rest now, Janet; you have taken the checkered flag.

Janet always pleasant and greeted you with a smile, amazing woman she kept going no matter what, it was a pleasure to have known her.

My sweet Janet!  I loved you so much.  We had so much fun when we were together in building 16 at PJC, first with Dr. Bedics then Dr. Gonzalez.  You were not only a good friend, but a great asset to PJC.  Always willing to do anything to help and always did excellent work.  I could always count on you.  You will be missed by all and I send my prayers and best wishes to Jim and your father, brother and family. Will always have wonderful thoughts of you.  Rest in peace my sweet friend.

Janet will be missed at Pensacola State College. Our prayer are with Jim and the family.

Janet Witt, "The Lawn Blonde" is the epitome of COURAGE.  As a National Champion and Driver of the Year, she never let her health battles keep her from kicking grass on the lawn mower racing track.  She battled with the boys, and often, under guidance of her expert Pit Crew - Jim - she beat them!  We travelled coast-to-coast together with our merry band of Sod Stompers and Lawn Rangers. Most of the time, she had a smile on her face, unless her machine was acting up or she missed a pass on the inside line or did not drive the race she knew she could.  She helped Jim in the Tech Inspection Line, helped new racers and was a true ambassador of our sport.  She was calm under pressure and was a RACER.  She did not let a few bumps, bruises and a couple of breaks keep her from her passion.  While I was on pins and needles every time she raced, Janet and Jim took it all in stride.  Janet and Jim retired from racing a few years ago, but they both exemplify the heart and soul of lawn mower racers everywhere.  I, and many, many others love you Janet.  Mow on my friend...

Janet was an integral part of the programs she assisted at Pensacola Junior College.  Many times I called on Janet for help; she was always knowledgeable and professional in assisting me.  May the wonderful and diverse memories Janet created bring peace and comfort to all who loved her.

Janet was one of a kind.  She was so proud of her racing abilities.  You would never guess this small lady could whip around the track as she could. She cared so much about the College and our students.  She will be missed.

Janet  always had an open door to help solve any situation.  She was a wonderful person to have had the pleasure to know. My deepest sympathy to Jim and family.  I will miss her.
