Jimmy was born on December 2, 1941, in Pensacola, Florida, to the late James Maddern Sellers II and Josephine Udell Sellers. He was preceded in death by his father, his mother, his beloved wife, Ruby Taft Sellers, granddaughter Katherine Elizabeth Renee Blashka, and his sister Caroline Howard.
A proud veteran, Jimmy served in the United States Air Force as a supply specialist before being honorably discharged. After his military service, he dedicated 44 years to a career in Purchasing at Baptist Hospital.
Jimmy is survived by his sister Joann Moore; his loving children, daughter Candace Kay (Mike) Cain, daughter Pamela Renee (Bruce) Blashka, and son Dr. James Maddern (Janet) Sellers IV. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Cristy, Heather, James, Alyxandrea, Tabatha, Genevieve, 7 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
In his free time, Jimmy enjoyed hobbies such as fishing and watching Clint Eastwood westerns. He was fond of classic cars and hot rods, and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He was a devoted member of the Church of Christ.
Services will be held at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel in Pensacola, Florida. Visitation is at 1:30 pm, Friday, April 19, 2024 followed by the funeral at 2:30 pm. The funeral will be officiated by Jimmy’s grandson, James Frederick Douglas Blashka. Jimmy is buried with full military honors.
