Jack H. Jernigan of Pensacola, Florida passed away on February 4, 2021. Jack was born on August 29, 1929, to parents Lillie Belle Thompson and Jack H. Jernigan, Sr. in Bogalusa, Louisiana. His family returned home to Pensacola shortly after his birth.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Anne Hassebrock Jernigan, and his siblings, Bernice Johnson, Marjorie Dykes, Geraldine Dykes, and Theodore White.
Jack is survived by three daughters: Kathy and husband Sam LaCour, Seletta and husband Keith Teston and Jacquelyn Joanne Jernigan; four grandchildren Jason Teston, Matthew Teston, Andrew LaCour and Amy LaCour, and a large, treasured family, including siblings Audrey Spurlock and James Jernigan and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Jack served in the U. S. Army from 1951 to 1953 in Korea, earning a Bronze Star. As a civilian Jack worked as a molder at Bay Shore Foundry and an automobile mechanic at Pensacola Buggy Works.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, burial in Bayview Cemetery will be private.
