After a long couragious battle with cancer, Helen W. Miller, age 59 of Pensacola, passed away in her home on Dec. 19, 2010.
Helen was the daughter of Carl and Ruby Woods. She was born and raised in Pensacola. Helen graduated from Pensacola Tech in 1969 as a cosmetologist. She then worked at London House in downtown Pensacola for several years before moving to the Gayfers salon for a short time. Using her "magic fingers" Helen then opened her own hair salon called "HB Designs" in the late seventies, where she styled hair until 2005. Helen was a strong, brave, and intelligent woman. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother "Bebe," kind sister, aunt, and a friend to all.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents Carl Owens Woods and Ruby Woods, and her sister Margaret Woods.
Helen is survived by her husband of 25 years, Dan M. Miller; her children Tiffany Cayton (Patrick), Bobby Miller, Tracie Monaco (Nick), and Ryan Miller (Britney); her grandchildren Evan, Ella, Bryan, and Brayley; her sisters Connie Pollack, Patricia Beaver, Teresa Barnett, Carlette Woods, Cathy Wild, and adopted sister Kim Kulik; her brother Carl Woods; and loving, caring best friend Elizabeth Jordan.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Eastern Gate Funeral Home. A Roseary will be read at 5:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Rock Cemetery in Robertsdale, AL.
Memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice in memory of Helen Miller.
