Mrs Geraldine Walker

1934 - 2010

Geraldine Akers Walker, age 76, of Pensacola passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010. Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents Victor and Blanche Akers and two sisters Lena and Rena. She was born in Idalou, Texas on August 27, 1934 and raised in Plainview, Texas. After graduating from Plainview High School she enlisted in the U.S. Navy. While stationed in San Diego she met and married Charles. She is survived by her husband of 55 years Charles J. Walker, Sr., her sister Katherine Bilby of Siloam Springs, Arkansas and her children Charles J. Walker, Jr., Susan Walker Powell, Sheila Walker, Samantha Seals (Travis), Grandson James Walker ( Abby), and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday November 20, 2010 from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel. Interment will be at Barrancas National Cemetery in a private service. Friends are requested not to visit Barrancas until after Tuesday, November 23, 2010. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Covenant Hospice. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made in Geraldine’s memory to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Avenue, Pensacola, Florida 32504.
