Gerald Ray Estridge, Jr.

1957 – 2013

Gerald Ray Estridge, Jr., 56, of Pensacola, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 26, 2013.

Gerald was born January 15, 1957 in Monroe, NC to Gerald Ray Estridge, Sr. and Betty Curlee Estridge. He attended Escambia High School before enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 16. Gerald retired from Bayview Memorial Park in 2007 after many years of service and was a member of Ensley First Baptist Church. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed getting his hands greasy restoring cars.

His mother Betty Jean Estridge (nee Curlee) and brother, David Wayne Estridge preceded Gerald in death.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Estridge; father, Gerald Ray Estridge, Sr.; sons, Robert Baker (Crystal), Michael Estridge (Earline), Kevin Estridge (Joyce) and Christopher Estridge (Mary); daughters, Samantha Phillips (Charles) and Christina Estridge; brothers, Joseph Estridge (Victoria) and Nereus “Skip” Estridge (Leslie); sisters, Deborah Grimes (Mark), Patricia Thompson (Ronnie) and Pamela Austin (Michael); aunts, Margie Rape (Sam) and Vallie Benton (Roy); thirteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 02, 2014 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel with Pastor Jeff Henry officiating.

Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Robert Baker, Michael Estridge, Kevin Estridge, Christopher Estridge, Charles Phillips and Sean Kahalley.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Thursday.

BAYVIEW FISHER-POU CHAPEL, 3351 Scenic Hwy., is entrusted with arrangements.
