Gary Thomas White Sr., 69, Pensacola, Florida went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at home surrounded by his loved ones, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 28 years, Sherry; children: Tommy White (Sharon), Trina White; step-children: Derrick Hess (Dafne), Heidi Chism; grandchildren: Rylie Hensor (Jacob), Benjamin White, Evan White, Tripp Daughtry, Emma White, Drake Hess,Braden Burdess (Kellie), Kaleigh Chism great grandchild: Charlotte Hess; and brothers, Danny White (Shelia), Tony White (Felecia) as well as numerous relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents Thomas and Lois White.
He was born in Flomaton, Alabama, on March 14, 1953. Gary graduated from Tate High School, class of 1971. Afterwards he obtained his mechanical contractor’s license. He worked at Sacred Heart Hospital for over 35 years in the maintenance department. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and nature. He loved riding on his golf cart and listening to music but mostly he loved spending time with his family.
The funeral service will be held at 11am at Olive Baptist Church on Thursday, December 8, 2022. Visitation will be held at 10 am at Olive Baptist and graveside service will be held at Eastern Gate Funeral Home at 12:30pm. We will be holding a meal at Olive Baptist Church following the graveside service at 1:45pm.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Olive Baptist Church in Gary’s name.
