Forrest Milton Fulton

Forrest M. Fulton joined his beloved wife Helen on Sunday, February 08, 2015. They now are together with our Lord, Jesus Christ to continue their journey of eternal life. Forrest was born on January 18, 1920 and recently celebrated his 95th birthday. He was one of 10 children born to George and Ella Fulton in Carbonhill, AL. He was soon dubbed with a nickname of “Bud” throughout the entire Fulton family. He was preceded in death by Helen, his wife of 64 years, his son, Richard Fulton, his grandson, Clifford Fulton and his brothers and sisters. Survivors include daughter, Cheryl (Paul) Fritz; a daughter-in-law, Marsha Fulton; grandchildren, Ashley (Jason) Caudle and Richard Jr. (Dawn) Fulton; great grandchildren, Kaleb, Bryce and Hanna Caudle, and Natasha and Brynlie Fulton; great great grandchildren, Damien, Nathan and Alijha Fulton; special family members, Betsy Reichert and Fran and Frankie Bush; and his canine companion, Ruby. He served in the US Navy for 20 years and retired as Chief Petty Officer in 1960. Upon retirement he and the family moved to Pensacola, where he then proceeded to work for Picker X-Ray, then Baptist Hospital. Then Sacred Heart Hospital snatched him up to become the Director of their Radiology School which he taught for 25 years. He was always so proud of his students and maintained a friendship with each of them over the years. He then continued to work with SHH as an X-Ray Technician and finally retired the first time. Only to continue working at many satellite Medical Facilities in the area. Volunteering came next for WFH, there also receiving the Humanitarian Award and then working as a volunteer for Medical Center Clinic in their radiology department and guest services department. His volunteering only stopped after his health took a downward turn this past fall.

Forrest was a member of the Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church, where he enjoyed many friends in his Christian family. He had a special bond with Henry who has been nicknamed as the “Associate Pastor”. He thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren over the past years. Hours were spent showing them magic tricks, card tricks, shooting the BB gun or just sitting on the swing together on the front porch. Many birthday and holiday celebrations were shared around the dining room table. They were a blessing to him and He was a blessing to them. Special thanks and appreciation goes to all our family members, friends and co-workers who have been there for us with their love, support and prayers. Last, but not least Covenant Hospice, Amedisys Home Health Services, Baptist Hospital’s entire staff and Dr. Luis Navas at Medical Center Clinic. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10am-12:00 pm with the service beginning at 12:00 pm, a light lunch will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice or his church, Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.easterngatememorial.com.
