Ellen was born June 29, 1926 in Barkeyville, Pennsylvania to Arthur and Mary Mackell. She moved to Pensacola in the late 1940’s after visiting her brother who was stationed at NAS and fell in love with the area. She was a physical education teacher at Tate High School, where she also coached gymnastics and tennis; Mom finished her career at Tate as Dean of Girls until retiring in 1988. She was a member of East Brent Baptist Church. After Mom retired she travelled the world and had adventures of a lifetime. She loved to go dancing, especially ballroom and round dancing and thoroughly enjoyed all types of music. Oh, how Mom loved chocolate!
She is survived by her son, Michael Black of Panama City, FL; daughter, Michele Kelson and husband Jimmy of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Courtney Lemieux, her husband Ryan and their children, Rylee and Raegan; Morgan Moses and her children, Addy, Lex and Sawyer.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Monday, June 14, 2021 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel followed by a service at 12:00 p.m. officiated by Dr. Dale Patterson.
