Elizabeth “Libby” Sherrill Hollimon passed away at the age of 62 on March 5, 2022 in her home at Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. She was born on May 22, 1959 in Pensacola, FL to June Morris Sherrill and Richard “Dick” Hall Sherrill
Libby grew up on Seville Drive, spending many days on Bayou Texar boating, sailing and water skiing. She was a true tomboy and quite athletic. She was an enthusiastic high school cheerleader for Pensacola School of Liberal Arts, then went on to get her bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Florida in Gainesville. She represented her Gators proudly throughout her life.
She was the most dedicated mother whose life revolved around raising her two children, Elizabeth and Philip on Shoreline Drive in Gulf Breeze. She drove them to and from school each day and made time to tote them around to all their extra-curriculars and friends’ houses, all while balancing her personal training career. She always made each day fun and exciting – never a dull moment.
Once an empty nester, she followed in the footsteps of her father, Richard “Dick” Sherrill as a real estate appraiser. Together, they spent many days out in the field and in the office, growing their personal and professional relationship.
A member of Christ Episcopal Church Pensacola for many years, she was firm in her faith and a lover of Christ. In 2019, she relocated to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL with her fiancé and the love of her life, Kevin (also native to Pensacola) to be close to her grandchildren. She soon become a member of Christ Episcopal Church Ponte Vedra, where she continued to grow in her faith.
After settling into their forever home in Ponte Vedra Beach with Kevin, she spent many days in the pool, on picnics and in the garden with her “Sugar Bear” Wyatt. When she was not spending time with her family, you could find her enjoying walks, taking bike rides, or swimming in the lap pool at her local gym. She had one of the most powerful butterfly strokes we have seen. During the summer of 2021, she completed a 15-mile swim challenge. She and Kevin shared a beautiful life together in Ponte Vedra Beach, and she cherished it.
Preceded in death by her parents Richard “Dick” Hall Sherrill and June Morris Sherrill, her sister Susan Tryon Sherrill, Libby is survived by her loving fiancé Kevin Gregory Morrell, her daughter Elizabeth Reid Crowell (William Russell Crowell), her son Philip Burns Hollimon (Kira Abelardo Hollimon), her grandchildren who stole her heart; Wyatt Russell Crowell, Eleanor June Crowell and Paxton Cade Hollimon and her sister Mollie Sherrill Thomas. A private memorial service for immediate family was previously held at Bayview Memorial Cemetery.
