Dorothy Elizabeth Baars

1921 – 2011

Dorothy Diane Elizabeth Baars, 90, of Pensacola, died Thursday, October 13, 2011 at her home.

Mrs. Baars was born January 23, 1921 in Taylor, Mississippi to Roy Richard Cook and Mable Hammond Cook. She was very active, very charitable and was a member of the Women’s Club of Pensacola, PJC Senior Citizens and the Bridge Club. Mrs. Baars loved to play bridge, work crossword puzzles and enjoyed oil painting. She was a member of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Ellison Baars and son, Jack Orenstein.

Survivors include her son, Mark Orenstein (Pat); daughter, Barbara E. Jones (Michael); daughter-in-law, Lavonne Orenstein; grandchildren, Michael Orenstein, Michele Daughtry, Scott Orenstein, Dee Eason, Cheryl Williamson, Ellison Hunton and Denise Yousut; twelve great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 17, 2011 at Bayview Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5401 Corporate Woods Drive, Suite 100, Pensacola, FL 32504.
