She was born in Pensacola, FL on December 11, 1964. Growing up in Gulf Breeze, she became a member of First Baptist Church in Gulf Breeze and was baptized at a young age.
After graduating from high school, Donna enrolled in cosmetology classes studying the art of hair and make-up her “fun job”. She loved the beach, sunbathing, and camping. Donna thoroughly enjoyed relaxing drives in the country on Sunday afternoons with her dear friend, Ben.
Later, she was employed by Baptist Hospital where she worked for many years.
After leaving the hospital, Donna was employed by Dr. Karen Kennedy in Gulf Breeze. During this time, Donna was a caregiver to her dad before and after work hours. Donna worked until the end of her life and rarely complained of her health.
Her dependence was on God and she praised and thanked Him daily.
Donna is survived by two sons David Lackey and Brannon Comer, her mother Dorothy Griffiths, and two brothers Mark and Christopher (Pamela) Cassels, and special close friend, partner, Ben Ouzts.
She was preceded in death by her dad Gordon B. Cassels Jr, and grandparents Gordon B and Lois Cassels and James and Syble Lee.
A visitation for Donna will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway 90e, Pensacola, FL 32503, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with Dr. Dale Patterson officiating.
