Donna Lynn Martin Clark, 54, of Pensacola, a very caring and Jesus loving woman got to walk into a new day in Heaven on February 04, 2020. She fought cancer for many years and today she burned the earthly ship and walked into Heaven; being in His glory I doubt she will look back.
She was born to Wilber and Linda Martin on May 05, 1965 in Ripley, MS. Graduated in 1987 from Mississippi University for Women with a BSN in Nursing. She married Ben Clark, Jr. on May 17, 1987.
During her 33 year nursing career she was extremely passionate about Oncology. In her words “She believes God charted her course as a youngster, including caring for both parents who had cancer”. She became President of the Oncology Nursing Society of NWF – Pensacola, FL; board member and nurse representative of the Alabama Cancer Congress; and committee member of the Monic Fox Symposium. She was an advocate for patients to the point of traveling to Washington DC to attend the Oncology Nursing Society on Capitol Hill. Another part of her dedication to patients was writing multiple articles advocating toward patient’s needs. Donna was considered a “Dual Citizenship” nurse because she administered chemotherapy to patients and then became the patient – receiving chemotherapy/radiation.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Wilber and Linda Martin.
Donna is survived by her husband, Ben Clark, Jr.; mother-in-law, Shirley Clark; sister-in-law, Lynda Clark Sullivan (Tommy) and sister Melissa McGregor (Daniel).
The Family would like to give a special thanks to Wanda Greeley, Debbie Bergeron, Leon and Carolyn Griffis and especially Covenant Inpatient Hospice Care.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oncology Nursing Education Fund (per Donna’s request) via Center State Bank (account ending 3258) care of Wanda Greeley, and to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
