Delores A. Madsen Williams, age 68, went to be with the Lord peacefully at home, August 3, 2015. From her birth on May 6, 1947 to her death, she nourished people around her with love and faith. She was born in Pensacola to William Niels Madsen and Bonnie Yvonne Brunson, and was the second youngest of five children. Delores worked in jewelry but shined as a stay at home wife where she lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with friends and family, cooking, sewing, gardening, and lending an ear when needed. She was always open and willing to help in any way she could.
Delores married Jacob J. Fretwell in 1963. Delores and Jake, an electrician and musician, helped with entertainment benefits parties for Parents without Partners, Fraternal Order of the Elks, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Moose Lodge, and other community service organizations around the area. However, it was not until years later she would meet her soulmate Norman Andrew Williams. Mr. Williams was honorably discharge from the United States Army and retired civil service. He and Delores would go on to help many military organizations as well. She was the former President of the Military Order of the Cootie, Sulphur Post #8107, and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW. As a valued member, she worked tirelessly serving our veterans meals, visiting hospitalized veterans, and creating activities for young service men away from their families. Norman preceded Delores passing in 2011.
Delores was an inspiration to everyone she knew and leaves a legacy which will be hard to match.
She is survived by daughters Jayleen Fretwell, Deborah (Robert), Norma (Robert), and son Nick Williams, grandchildren Jonathan and Randy, brothers Charles (Dora), Mitchell (Diana), Rupert Madsen, Aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
