Dawn Ashley Kane, age 42, passed away on July 6, 2023 unexpectedly in Pensacola, Florida. She was an amazing daughter, beloved sister, insanely enthusiastic aunt, treasured granddaughter, loving niece, awesome cousin, cherished friend, and adored girlfriend.
Born in Pensacola, Florida, she was the daughter of Bill and Dolores Kane. She graduated from Pensacola High School in 1999. She attended University of West Florida on full scholarship for Cross County Running and attained a BS in Exercise Physiology. In her most recent career endeavors, she was a passionate school teacher at Lipscomb Elementary School and loved being the Cross Country Running Coach at Pensacola High School, all while still enjoying her love of bar tending at Jaco’s Bayfront Bar and Grille.
Dawn’s true calling was in the field of education. As a dedicated and passionate school teacher, she brought enthusiasm and creativity into her classroom. With years of experience Dawn possessed a deep understanding of the subject matter and the natural ability to connect with her students.
She was an avid runner who completed 6 marathons including the Boston Marathon. She enjoyed cycling, dancing, scuba diving, paddle boarding, hiking, skiing, and all aspects of beach life that Pensacola had to offer. She will be remembered for her infectious smile, warm personality, and her shining example of humility and integrity. Despite her achievements and successes she remained grounded and committed to her principles.
She is survived by parents Bill and Dolores Kane, brother Brad Kane, grandparents, Evelyne (Bill) Hise; Great Aunt Karin Reynolds; Uncles Patrick (Kathy) Kane, Michael Kane, Larry (Lina) Dorman; Aunt Sissy Dorman and a multitude of cousins. She is proceeded in death by grandparents Jack and Peggy Kane, Billy Gene Dorman, Great Uncle Ken Reynolds, Sister Bridgett Kane, Uncle David Dorman, Beloved Nephew Able Kane, beloved dog Daisy.
Dawn’s passing will leave a deep void in the hearts of everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her.
The Visitation will held on Saturday July 15, 2023 at 1-2PM with Memorial Service to follow at 2PM at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church (6205 North W Street, Pensacola, FL.) Flowers are being coordinated by Southern Gardens Florist and Gifts (7400 Pine Forest Rd, Pensacola, FL.) In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in Dawn’s name to Pensacola High School Cross Country Team (500 W Maxwell St, Pensacola, Fl 32501) or Pensacola Humane Society (5 N Q ST, Pensacola, FL 32505.)
In the wake of Dawn’s untimely passing, we reflect on the impact she had on the people around her. Her humility, integrity and unwavering principles made her a remarkable individual. Dawn’s contributions as a bartender, teacher, coach, and active member of her community will not be forgotten. As we remember Dawn, let us cherish the memories she created, the lives she touched, and the lessons she imparted.
