Claude Christie

Claude was a loving husband and father. He served in the United States Navy on the USS Forrestal, the US Wasp and the Kitty Hawk and the Lexington. After retirement from the Navy he worked at Baptist Hospital in maintenance, The Sheraton Hotel and Motel 6. Then at Esp in Jasper, Florida. He also volunteered at the Navy Marine Corp Relief Society Thrift Store. On April 27,1965 he married the love of his life Lena Fay Campbell. They tried for years to have a child and were successful on July 18, 1980 when they welcomed to the world their daughter Starla Fay Christie. Claude loved his daughter with all of his heart. He was an amazing father who truly gave his all. He taught Starla all skills ranging from plumbing, electrical, wood working, money management and anything else he could think of. He loved his wife more than words could ever express.

He is preceded in death by his parents L. D. Christie and Edith Lee Christie, his brothers Bill Christie, Howard Christie, Edward Christie, Alton Christie.

He is survived by his wife Lena Fay Christie, Starla Fay Christie, his sister Shirley Lindsey and numerous nieces and nephews.
