Mr. Hedden was born March 12, 1934, in Robertsdale, Alabama, to Taft and Myrtle (Denham) Hedden.
He served in the United States Air Force, then worked for NARF-NADEP Pensacola NAS for 32 years as an instrument mechanic foreman.
He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church. He loved fishing, watching his beloved Atlanta Braves play, and spending time with his family, and with his many grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Martha Jean (Lewis) Hedden; 4 sons and their wives; Dennis and Diana Hedden, Joseph and Michele Hedden, Timothy and Angie Hedden, Scott and Angel Hedden; 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, 2 brothers, and their spouses; Joe and Delores Hedden, and Carl and Terri Hedden, 2 sisters-in-law; Renee (Leon) and Nancy (Steve) Hedden
He was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Perry, and two brothers, Leon and Steve Hedden.
The family would also like to thank Covenant Hospice for their extraordinary care during his time of need.
Pallbearers are as follows: Brian Hedden, Chris Hedden, Joey M Hedden, Jacob Hedden, Phillip Hedden, and Avery Hedden.
Honorary Pallbearers are as follows: Charles "Chuck" Hedden, Timothy Scott Hedden, and Ashton Hedden.
A visitation for Charles will be held Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home, 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32534. A funeral service will follow from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. An interment will take place at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens, 1985 W. Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32534.
