On Sunday, February 7, 2021, at the age of 89, Carolyn Nicholson Wise, loving wife and mother, celebrated her first day in heaven, reunited with family and friends to hear the words from her Lord and Savior, “Well done good and faithful servant.”
She was born on August 28, 1931 in Pensacola to Peter and Sadie Nicholson. She was raised in Brownsville, was a member of Richards Memorial United Methodist Church and a graduate of Pensacola High School Class of ’49. She attended Pensacola Junior College where she met the love of her life, Robert Wise. They were married the next summer and spent the next 47 years building a wonderful life for themselves and their family.
Carolyn was best known for serving and loving others through her gift of hospitality. She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain. Her home was always open to family, friends, and soon-to-be friends with an invitation to a delicious homecooked meal followed by a game of dominoes or cards or maybe just a relaxing visit on her front porch which she loved. Her kind and compassionate heart knew no limits and her quick wit and beautiful smile made her home a place filled with laughter and love.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Peter Nicholson, her mother Sadie Nicholson, her sisters, Florence Owens, Vera Edwards, Hilda White, her brothers, Peter Nicholson, James Nicholson, and her loving husband, Robert.
She is survived by her three children, Kathi Kelly (Mike), Vicki Webb (Kevin), Bill Wise (Lynn), eight grandchildren and eleven greatgrandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Bayview Fisher Pou on Scenic Highway. Visitation at 10 o’clock, service at 11 o’clock.
