Carol Marie Futch Bores entered into eternal life on March 6, 2013, after a two and a half year courageous battle with breast cancer. Our darling Carol – Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend was born on Christmas Day in 1952, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Grace and Troy Futch, who moved to Pensacola in 1954. Carol loved Pensacola where she grew up and then lived on Pensacola Beach for many years raising her children and together with her husband, Keith operated Pensacola Beach Realty.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Keith M. Bores, and her daughters, Samantha Bores Parsons, and Marie Bores of Pensacola and Michelle Bores of Jacksonville Beach, Florida. She is also survived by the joy of her life, her granddaughter, Annabelle Grace Parsons, her sister and brother-in-law, Lynda and Andy Creed and her nephews, Andrew Creed, III, and John Bonner Creed and her niece, Carlisle Creed. She is also survived by her Aunt and Uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Warner A. Bonner, Jr., of Atlanta, and their families, her father-in-law, Joseph Eugene Bores, and sister-in-law, Kathy (Mark) Lewis of Homestead, FL, and their son, Jesse.
Carol was a graduate of Brenau Academy in Gainesville, GA, in 1970, and Florida State University, in 1974, where she majored in Visual Art Design with a minor in Spanish. She loved and enjoyed speaking Spanish, traveling to Mexico, Spain and the Islands. She also taught Spanish to the students at Pensacola Beach Elementary, which named her “The Volunteer of The Year”. She was the President of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority at FSU and remained an active alumna throughout her life. Professionally, she was an interior designer for Ethan Ellen and Gayfer’s before becoming a Real Estate Broker for over twenty years. She was a member of Allied ASID, The Pensacola Board of Realtors, Gulf Breeze Methodist Church, Fiesta Court 1972, and other social and civic organizations.
Growing up and living lifelong in Pensacola, gifted Carol with many wonderful friends and acquaintances that will miss her joyful spirit, artistic talents and loving grace.
A visitation will be held at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel on Monday, March 11, 2013 from 5pm to 7pm. The funeral service, celebrating her life, will be held at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church, 75 Fairpoint Drive, Gulf Breeze, FL on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 10am, with the Rev. Ruth Knights, Associate Pastor, officiating, with burial following at Bayview Memorial Park on Scenic Hwy. Pallbearers will be: Andrew L. Creed, Andrew Creed, III, Allen McDonald, Caleb McDonald, John Klein, and Roth Friar. The family will host a lunch reception at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, following burial.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be dedicated to the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation, Inc. 3450 Founders Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46268, for Breast Cancer Research, or a charity of your choice. Bayview Fisher-Pou has been entrusted with arrangements.
