Bobby Eugene Lambert, 80,of Pensacola, FL, died peacefully at his home Sunday, September 27, 2015. Mr. Lambert was born and grew up in Mooresville, NC where he excelled in sports and was given the nickname “Bull”. He continued to be an avid sports fan through life with his all-time favorite athlete being Mickey Mantle.
Mr. Lambert earned a football scholarship to Western Carolina University, however he chose to serve his country. He joined the U.S. Air Force serving with the Strategic Air Command during the Cold War from 1954 to 1958. During his military service he met Maye Ann Reeves whom he wed in 1956. Upon an honorable discharge from the Air Force, Mr. Lambert returned to North Carolina and began work at his father’s TV repair shop in Mooresville. Later he moved to Charlotte, NC and attended Charlotte College while working for Canon Aircraft as a Line Chief Supervisor. While with Canon he obtained his private pilot license. Later he worked for Jordan Business Forms in Charlotte. In 1980, he relocated to Pensacola, FL with Standard Register as a Business Forms Sales Executive, retiring in 1997.Mr. Lambert enjoyed wood-working, travelling, sporting events, attending his grandchildren’s activities and all family events.
Mr. Lambert was always very proud of his North Carolina heritage.
Mr. Lambert was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by father, Fred Lee Lambert, mother, Vergie Mary Munday Lambert and brother, Billy Lee Lambert. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maye Ann Reeves Lambert, of Pensacola; daughter Susan Lambert Campbell (Eddie), of Sanford, NC; son Randy Lambert (Carol), of Pace, FL. Grandchildren include Jarrod Campbell of Charlotte, NC; Lauren Campbell, Esquire of Sanford, NC; Catherine Lambert and Ryan Lambert of Pace, FL. Mr. Lambert was always proud of his grandchildren’s achievements. He is also survived by many special nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mr. Lambert’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, with Visitation from 10 am to 12 noon, service at 12 noon with interment to follow at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bond and Dr. Torrisi of the Pensacola VA Medical Center and the staff and services provided by Emerald Coast Hospice, Gentiva and Interim. Also special thanks to family, friends and neighbors for their acts of kindness.
