Betty J. Gray

She was born on May 17, 1932 on a farm homesteaded by her grandparents. She was born to Byrul Reed Joseph and Mable Ruth Joseph. Betty grew through childhood in Chetopa, Parsons, Kansas City and Wichita, Kansas. Shortly after the end of World War II the Josephs moved back to Parsons, Kansas. She attended West Junior High then Parsons High School and one year at Parsons Junior College. While attending school she participated in the Drum and Bugle Corp through college.Betty traveled off to further her college to Manhattan, Kansas where she attended Kansas State University. She completed her college degree in Maryland. Betty is survived by her spouse Richard Lee Gray; daughter, Jeanette Schutz (Harold Schutz); grandson, Joseph Fulton; daughter, Rinda Gray-Astley (Kevin Astley); granddaughter, Erin Fromm(Jeremy Fromm); great-grandson, Silas Fromm, great-granddaughter, Molly Fromm; grandson Derek Astley; Son, Ralph Gray; granddaughter, Rinda Ann Gray. She is also survived by extensive family in the Kansas and Oklahoma area.A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 PM, Monday, Feb 15, 2016 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 N. New Warrington Rd. Pensacola, FL 32506. Family will receive friends one hour prior.
