On Wednesday, October 19, 2022 the Lord delivered a first-class ticket on Angel Airlines to our mother, Barbara Ann Barron Dyar. Her soul flew home to heaven. Waiting for her there was her husband of 57 years, Robert and her daughter Marilyn. Her parents, her six sisters and her brother were also awaiting her arrival. Homecoming joy was in the air.
Mama was born on New Year's Day 1929 in rural south Georgia, moving with her family to central Florida in 1936. Barbara married Robert Dyar in 1946 after the war. They raised three girls and a boy in Eustis, a small town just north of Orlando.
In early 2004 Robert passed away, and later that fall her son Phillip's wife Andre also died. Mama came for her funeral and never went back south. She lived with Phillip and his wife Jane for 18 years.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Linda Stallworth of Pensacola, son Phillip and daughter in law Jane of Cantonment, and daughter Carolyn Morrison, and son in law Ray of Dothan, Alabama.
In addition, Mama served grace and hospitality to a number of grandchildren: Jennifer, David, April, Billy, Tiffanie, Michael, Kenny, Christopher, John and Mike. Mama's long life favored her to see her children's children's children. Her legacy lives on.
In nine decades of life experience, we all benefited from the wisdom of Mama's time on earth. As years of our lives unfold, we can be confident that when we need her she'll be there, feeling her prayers on our behalf, and comforted in knowing we will see her again when the roll is called up yonder for us.
We love you, Mama. Godspeed.
A Visitation for Barbara will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway 90e, Pensacola, FL 32503, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.
