Antoinette (Anne) C. Smith of Pensacola was called to join God in her eternal home on July 17, 2018. Anne was born in Cleveland, OH August 30, 1938. She moved to Pensacola when she was a young adult and met her husband of almost 53 years at Gulf Marine Supply where they both were employed. She was a bookkeeper at Pensacola Bahia Mar before accepting a position with Area Housing Commission where she retired at 63 as Fiscal Manager. Anne was a loving wife, and mother of 3 daughters. She enjoyed time with friends and family; was kind, caring, and loved to tell jokes that made others smile. During her lifetime she served as a Girl Scout leader, a volunteer at the Pensacola VA JACC, at the USO in the Pensacola International Airport, and as a mentor at Warrington Elementary. She was also an active member at St. Thomas More Church serving as a reader, teacher, parish council member, and in the choir.
Anne had a big heart for God, family, her local church, community and country. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
Anne was survived by her husband, Carl Smith, and her sister, Alexandria Kollias; her daughters - Carla Kunert, Lucinda Taylor (Todd), and Melissa Rowe (Neal); 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at St. Thomas More, 3295 Barrancas Ave, Pensacola FL on Friday, July 27 at 10 a.m. with Father Nicholas Schumm officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. A celebration of life reception will be held immediately following. Flowers accepted or donations may be made to Saint Thomas More’s Missionary in Anne's memory.
Interment will be 11:30 p.m. on Monday, July 30 at Barrancas National Cemetery with Father Casserly officiating
