1921 – 2011
Annie “Ann” Benson, 89, of Navy Point went peacefully to be with the Lord on August 7, 2011. She served her Lord faithfully through her dedication to His services. Many were affected by her compassion and acts of ministering. She loved and was proud of her children and grandchildren.
Ann was a beacon of light and a cornerstone of the Warrington United Methodist Church, where she served for over 50 years. She also worked over 30 years as a secretary with the U.S. Civil Service, and as a 20 plus years volunteer at Baptist Hospital. She impacted the lives of all who met her. Her legacy of being God’s servant will continue through the many who loved her.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Dennis) Ramsay of Glen Rose, TX; son, Franklin (Elise) Benson of Pensacola, FL; son, Jack Benson of Atlanta, GA; son, Greg (Renee) Benson of Arlington, TX; sister, Mary Parmer of Orlando, FL; eleven grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces, cousins, whom she loved.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at BAYVIEW FISHER–POU CHAPEL (3352 Scenic Hwy) with Pastor Bob Bailey officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Research Institute, American Cancer Society, or Warrington United Methodist Church.
