Anne was born on August 29, 1939 in Brunswick, Maine to Roch and Claire Michaud. Growing up on Oak Street brought countless memories which helped lay the foundation of family, love and laughter that would perpetuate for the remainder of her blessed life. She graduated from Brunswick High School and worked at NAPs Bakery, the Cabot Mill and the First National Bank of Brunswick. It was here that she met a young Navy man, David Smith, who soon became her loving and devoted husband of 56 years.
Navy life led Anne, David and her “three boys” on an amazing journey through numerous duty stations until they finally settled in Pensacola, Florida in 1971. Along the way, Anne’s strength and infectious personality ensured each transition was seamless as she touched countless lives and built lasting relationships with many new friends. Anne was also very creative in arts and crafts and soon excelled at cake decorating while working at J’s Pastry Shop, Pantry Pride and Albertsons. Her Christmas recipes of pork pie, peanut butter balls and needums were just some of the family favorites. After she retired from Fairfield Dental, Anne continued with her passions in life. She loved spending time with her family, working at the Rose Garden at Little Flower Catholic Church, going to lunch with the ladies on Thursdays and spending Sundays at Johnson’s Beach with David, her partner in life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Roch and Claire Michaud and her brother Paul Michaud.
She is survived by her husband, David Smith; her three children Charles Smith (Terri), Mark Smith (Leigh), and Scott Smith (Bobbi); her three grandchildren Shawn Smith, Rachel Smith and Joshua Smith; and her great grandchild Emma Smith. She is also survived by her brother Raymond Michaud (Marilyn) and her sister Priscille Michaud, along with numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren.
