1943-2017
Allen Glenn Alexander was born in Stephenville, Texas on January 11, 1943. After many trials with his heart he peacefully passed away on February 4, 2017 at Sacred Heart Hospital.
During his time in the US Navy, he served on board the USS Lexington and USS John Paul Jones. It is while serving in the US Navy and being stationed in Pensacola that he met his wife of 53 years, Betty. Allen separated from the Navy and settled in Pensacola with Betty, where they raised their children, Sheila and Garry. After retiring from NAS Pensacola, Allen enjoyed traveling, taking photos (he always had a camera in his pocket), napping and tinkering with stuff and putting things together. He loved spending time with his family and was proud of them all. He had a kind, gentle heart and never met a stranger.
Allen is predeceased by his mother, Jean Jackson; stepfather, Clyde Jackson; his father, Glenn Alexander and stepmother, Lucille Alexander. He is survived by his wife, Betty; his daughter Sheila (Jack) Carney of Pensacola, FL; his son Garry (Dede) Alexander of Mobile, AL; brothers: Bill (Dee) Alexander of Goehner, NE and John Alexander of Lincoln, NE; sister Barbara Daarud of Lincoln, NE; brother-in-law, WC Sanders (Ethel) of Cantonment, FL and sister-in-law Elouise Cotton of Pensacola, FL.
