Alice Edith Blevin Trees, 95, of Pensacola has left this mortal Earth and rejoined her husband, Marion; her daughter, Barbara Ann; 12 brothers and sisters leaving to rejoice in her freedom on Saturday, February 28, 2015. Born to the late William and Alice H (nee: Yarnall) Blevin on April 17, 1919 in Philadelphia, PA. She was raised in Cape May, NJ and stayed there until a certain Marine marksmanship instructor, detailed to the Coast Guard training station, walked into the soda fountain where she worked and didn't run fast enough to get away. She married on June 28, 1941, in Elkton, Maryland and became a Marine wife just in time for the WWII. One war, two children, and a military retirement later, the family moved to Pensacola in 1951, settling in Myrtle Grove in 1953. Alice was active in the Myrtle Grove Women's Club, becoming a fixture with the Antique Show at the Pensacola Interstate Fair for many years. Propagation of azaleas and camellias, as well as knitting and crocheting were her forte. She is survived by her loving son, Marion, Jr. "Coyote"; three grandsons, nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Road, Pensacola. Services are private.
