Remembering you all in my thoughts and prayers on this first anniversary tomorrow of Alice's passing.  May God grant you peace and comfort.  Love and blessings.

I am so sad at just learning of Alice's passing.  My love, thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family.  She and Joe as well as all of the Franzone & Simoneaux family were always so good to me and so much fun to be around.  I'll never forget her!

I will never ever forget your mom and dad and growing up talking to them all the time.  They were always so pleasant and kind to everyone. I have such wonderful memories of both of them together and my mom standing at the fence talking to them and everyone laughing. I am so very sorry for your loss.

She was one of the sweetest persons I have ever met, we are going to miss you Grandma Franzone!

To the Franzone family - so sorry for your loss and may your memories always bring smiles to your face and peace and joy to your hearts.

What a beautiful tribute to your parents! I think every parent hopes their kids will do something like this for them. While we are saddened by your mom's passing, we can rejoice in knowing her present status above! It is probably a blessing indeed that your dad may be enduring this horrible loss of memory, as I'm not sure you would want to endure his mourning, along with your own. Now, as you look to the future, ALL four of you siblings must rally around him for his comfort and rely on each other for support. We will include your family on our prayer list at our church. City Boy Meets Country Girl

It was the summer of 1953 in the small town of Barrineau Park, Florida where a country girl fell in love with a big city boy. While spending time on the Perdido River with her sisters, Alice Nall stumbled upon a sailor and his girlfriend on a picnic. Joe Franzone came to Pensacola from New York City on the USS Monterrey and was enjoying the sun as well as taking liberties with a girl that shocked those southern belles. Disgusted Alice and her sisters turned away. 
As weeks went on Joe's roommate, Andy Kosan, met a young lady and had a double date planned for him and a friend. After his friend gets sick Andy convinces Joe to take his place so that he didn't have to cancel. Everyone was shocked to see that Joe, the same man that Alice had come across at the river was now going to be her blind date. Driving down the highway in a convertible and having dinner at the Crossroads Café quickly turns into the time of their lives. A night of laughter and dancing leads to many more and the beginning of a love story that lasts through the ages, a love story that almost didn't happen.
Well into this whirlwind romance Joe did not show up for a date, no explanations. Alice did not like being stood up and showed Joe this by not having anything to do with him for months. Joe realized how much he missed her and in a desperate attempt to win her back he went to family for help in getting her to talk to him but Alice held her ground. Finally, out of all other options and knowing he couldn't let the love of his life get away, Joe brought his pleas to Alice's father. Joe showed just how serious he was by having bought a ring and been ready to ask for her hand in marriage. The choice was up to her. Was he going to be denied and head back to New York with the Navy and never be seen again or would she forgive him and accept his proposal?
In the end she had to trust her instincts and start a life with this navy man from the big city who swept in and stole her heart. From this point on their love flourished. On April 27, 1954 Joe and Alice jumped in with both feet and drove to Perry, FL to be married by Alice's life long preacher Joe Floyd. After a honeymoon in south Florida Joe took his country bride to New York to start a family. After having their first son the young couple moved back to Pensacola. Joe and Alice went on to have 3 more children together. They lived their lives together, raised their children together, worked and played together. They have a living legacy in their four children, twelve grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. 
On April 27, 2015, Joe's 82nd birthday and Joe and Alice's 61st wedding anniversary Alice passed on to be with her Savior. Joe, suffering with Alzheimer's, may never know the fate of the woman he built a life around and while this is such a sad circumstance, in some ways it is also a blessing. These two people showed so many what love is and how to live life the way it is meant to be lived.  We are so blessed to have had this beautiful woman in our lives and will cherish every moment spent with her.
