Alene H. Wagner, 81, of Pensacola, FL left this life Friday, June 26, 2015. She was born to the late Hughes and Eva Lee Holley on December 3, 1933 in Cottondale, FL. She graduated from Cottondale High School retired from the Escambia County School System, where she served as a secretary in the Guidance Office at Escambia High School for 25 years.Alene loved her church family at Resurrection Lutheran Church and served her community through their many outreach programs such as Camp Happy Sands, and the Sunshine Shepherds. She was adventurous and loved to travel with her husband George who took her from tent to motor home as they explored the U.S., Canada, and Europe. They spent 25 summers in North Carolina where they enjoyed yet another close family of friends. Children, grand children and great grand children cherish their Nanny and the quilts she lovingly made for each of them. Alene met her sailor sweetheart in Charleston SC, where they began a lifelong adventure. He whisked her from a small southern town and showed her the world. They worked hard, and played hard - few couples enjoyed life as much as George and Alene. She loved Bud - he opened up the world for her, and the took every opportunity to experience the joy of life, together. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hughs and Eva Lee Holley, brothers Willis Holley, Wilburn Holley and Earl Holley. Sisters, Gertrude Tharp, Alice Johnson, and Kathleen Labrato. She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, George Wagner, son, Steven (Lisa) Wagner; daughters, Jennifer (Michael) Adkins and Regina Wagner; sister Madine Owen; grandchildren Matthew Adkins, Lindsay Osborn, Reid Villeneuve, Ross Villeneuve, Jacob Wagner, Shane Wagner, and 5 great grandchildren.
