Stephanie Ann Bates

Stephanie was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on October 16th, 1976. She was a graduate of Chapel Hill High School in NC, the North Carolina State University, and earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Phoenix. Stephanie was employed with Pro Action as the Assistant Director of the Yates County Office of the Aging and was recently promoted to Director of Special Projects for Pro Action in Bath, NY. The Penn Yan Rotary Club recently honored her for her work and volunteerism in the Yates County community.

Stephanie is survived by her loving husband, Corey Bates; her sons, John ‘Jack’ and Andrew Bates; her mother, Susan (Roger) Boyd; father, John (Lisa) Barber; sister, Lindsay (Dan) Chin; step sisters, Ashley Patrick and Allison Oser; step brother, Joel Oser; mother in law, Joan Bates; brothers in law, Gregory (Lisa) Bates, Jeffrey (Kathy) Bates, and Christopher (Deborah) Bates; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews as well as many wonderful friends. In addition to her grandparents, Nancy and Roy; she was predeceased by her father in law, Gerard Bates.

Friends and family may call from 4pm to 7pm on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2015 at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, NY 14527. A funeral service honoring her life will be held on Thursday, April 23rd, 2015 at 11am at the First Baptist Church of Penn Yan, 224 Main St., Penn Yan, NY 14527, with the Rev. Stephen Sanden officiating.
