Helene Marie Allen

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, NY from 10:00am – 12:00pm. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael’s Church in Penn Yan at 1:00pm. Burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Helene was born on November 26, 1930 in Albany, NY to the late John & Helen (Donnelly) Hickey. She attended Vincentian Institute in Albany and moved to Penn Yan in 1962. Helene was affiliated with St. Michael’s Catholic Church, the Women’s Club of Penn Yan, the Geneva and Penn Yan Country Clubs. Her hobbies included golf and playing cards. She enjoyed her pets, her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Leigh) Adams of Gorham, NY; son, Stephen Allen of Geneva, NY; good friend, Lois McMichael of Butler, PA; grandchildren, Nicole Adams of Salt Lake City, Utah, Angela Tevels of Rochester, NY, Jessica (fiancé, Jacob Runner) Adams of Syracuse, NY, Sara (Kenny) McGee of Butler, PA, Scott (Tracy) Hammond of Colorado; great grandchildren, Seth Hammond, Meghan McGee, Connor McGee, Aliyah Eldridge, Steven Eldridge; brother, Paul (Pat) Hickey of Luckenbach, Texas; sister-in-law, Jackie Hickey of Albany, NY; brother-in-law, Philip Allen; sister-in-law, Joyce Allen; aunts, Ann Donnelly Kane, Betty Donnelly of Albany, NY; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Helene was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Fred S. Allen on November 11, 1998; brothers, Peter Hickey, Jack Hickey; sister, Patricia Mathews.
