Walton F Smith

Walton is survived by his children Michael A. Smith (Tammy), David L Smith ( Mary), Richard P Smith (Rebecca), Alice M Mitchell(Rick), Mark E Smith, Teresa G Ross (Kirk), Beth A Godwin, Timothy P Smith(Pamela), Nancy S. Armstrong( Dennis), Sue A Smith (Daniel); a host of Grandchildren and Great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Walton was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Eugenia Sprouse Smith; his son, Joseph Paul Smith; his parents, Alva Walton and Nancy Hanna Smith; and one brother and five sisters.

Walton was honorably discharged from United States Marines in 1946 serving in World War II. He demonstrated his unwavering Catholic Faith his entire life by attending daily Mass and ministering to those in need. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew Walton.

A visitation for Walton will be held Friday, February 2, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kilgroe Funeral Home, Pell City, Alabama. A rosary will occur Friday, February 2, 2024 at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 4609 Martin Street South, Cropwell, Alabama 35054. A burial will occur Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 1:45 PM at Elmwood Cemetery, 600 Martin Luther Jr. Drive, Birmingham, Alabama.
