Robert M. Smith (known as Mike), age 74, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022. Mike was a devoted father and grandpa. Upon retiring in 2009 and returning to Alabama where it all started in 1947, he relished meeting up with his friends for breakfast, spending time with his best friend, Fred (Bassett Hound), playing his CDs/cassettes, workshop tinkering and watching baseball.
Mike is survived by his sons: Steven Smith and Brian Smith; daughter: Alicia Ostendorf; sisters: Judy Strange and Vie Warshaw; and grandchildren: Landen, Reed, Jordan, Abbie and Sophie. We will miss him daily, but his spirit will live forever in our hearts.
