Johnny Clemons Turner, age 61, passed away on September 7, 2021 at Diversicare Nursing Facility in Pell City. Mr. Turner, a life-long resident of Pell City, was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Turner, and his sons Derek and Justin Turner. Mr. Turner, grandson of Horace and Geneva Williamson, and John Guy and Eunice Turner.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Scott of Pell City, his sister Vicky (Don) King of Pell City, his granddaughter Alayah Turner, niece Natalie (Michael) Crews of Georgia, nephew Trei (Melody) King of Pell City, and great nieces Skye and Anna.
Mr. Turner was a highly sought-after Certified Meat Cutter by profession, and a staunch Roll Tider who never missed an Alabama Crimson Tide ballgame. He loved animals and had much enjoyment with his dog Deke. Mr. Turner had been plagued by numerous illnesses over the past few years, requiring frequent hospitalizations before becoming a resident at Diversicare in Pell City. His passing has left a void with family and friends that will never be filled. However, comfort is gained and celebrated in knowing that he rests in the presence of God, and has no more crying or pain.
Due to Covid infection concerns, funeral services are to be graveside only for family and a few close friends on Friday, September 10 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clair Memorial Gardens.
