Alice Wakefield Sullivan “MeMaw” of Pell City, Alabama was born on September 6, 1936 and passed away on July 24, 2023. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 27, at 1:30 pm at Kilgroe Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of the service in the chapel. Interment will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Riverside.
Alice enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and the “Golden Girls”. She was always ready for an adventure. She loved to travel, quilt, and spend time in the garden.
Alice volunteered with the Pink Ladies Auxiliary Ascension St. Vincent’s here in Pell City as well as worked as a substitute lunchroom worker in the Pell City School System. She was a member of the co-ed senior adult class at Cropwell Baptist Church.
Alice is survived by her children, William Dale Sullivan (Karen), Patsy S. Smith (Doug), Robert “Corky” Sullivan (Melanie); grandchildren, Lindsay Thompson (Michael) Haley Williams (Justin), Jamon Suggs (Jill), Stephanie Millard, Emily Norris (Alan), Clint Smith (Morgan), William “Will” Purvis Sullivan (Erin), Samuel “Cody” Sullivan (Monica); great-grandchildren, Anna Zarn, Jayce Thompson, Sully Williams, Jack Millard, Grayson Norris, Elli Norris, Clay Smith, Addie Harry, Cooper Sullivan, Sadie Sullivan, Isabel Mae “Bella” Sullivan, and Laura Alice Sullivan.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Ernest E. Sullivan; parents, Dozier and Ruthie Wakefield; sister, Celia Wakefield; and great-grandson, Samuel Cody Sullivan Jr.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lakeside Hospice and staff, Leigh Ann, Kristy, Jo, Lynn, Jameria, Karsen, Lakeside Chaplain Darryl Wood, Dr. Tuck and Dr. Rock Helms.
