Bill Pearce, Sr., age 84, from Vestavia Hills, Alabama passed away on July 29th, 2014. A Birmingham native, Bill enjoyed living in Vestavia Hills for most of his life. After attending Ramsay High School, he graduated from the University of Alabama in 1954 with a BS in Chemistry. He was a proud alumnus of the SAE fraternity. Bill was an accomplished Pharmaceutical Representative for over 37 years for Ciba-Geigy/Novartis. He has been an active member of his church, Mountain Brook Baptist. His lifetime accomplishments include being married to his wife, Gerry, of 53 years and successfully raising four children. He enjoyed his family, gardening, barbequing, fishing and football.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Lorena Powell, and father, Thomas Preston Pearce; son, Lloyd Mitchell Pearce, and son-in-law, Charles B. Whitehead.
He is survived by his son, Bill Pearce, Jr., his daughters, Beverly Pearce Morrison, and Virginia Pearce Lukkes, and his grandchildren, Lee Pearce, Anne Morrison, John Morrison, and Kate Morrison. Other relatives include sons-in-laws, Dan Morrison and Michael Gompertz.
On Monday, August 4th, visitation will be held at 10:00am followed by a Graveside Service at 11:00am and Celebration of Life Reception at 11:45am. Dr. James Moebes and Dr. Doug Dortch will be officiating the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials honoring Bill can be sent to Mountain Brook Baptist Church. All directing services will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL.
