William “Bill” Weldon Cunningham III of Birmingham, AL went home to his Savior on March 21, 2021 following a 4 month battle with COVID 19. Born on November 24, 1954 he was a graduate of Carbon Hill High School and Auburn University in Auburn, AL where he obtained a degree in electrical engineering.
Bill lived a full life in his 66 years. His greatest loves in life were his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his beloved wife of 40 years, Michele Cunningham, his children and grandchildren, and the countless people he cared for and invested his life in. Bill was larger than life, and the hole left by his absence is profound. Bill and Michele were founding staff with Campus Outreach at University of Montevallo and Troy University. Bill went on to work in investment banking for 25 years. He is survived by his wife Michele Cunningham, Their children: Lindsey Williamson (Colby), Will Cunningham (Christine), Abby Moorer (Jake), Tanner Cunningham (Rachael), and Luke Cunningham. His Grandchildren: Elliot, John, Davy, and Mae Williamson, Eliza and William Cunningham, Jacob, Collins, and Maggie Moorer. He is also survived by his sister who loved dearly, Brenda Berrey.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at 11 AM on March 27, 2021 at Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, AL. All COVID protocols will be followed, and Masks are required. We invite those who cannot join to the live stream on Facebook.
