William "Bill" Lawson Burgess, 82, of Hoover, Alabama passed away Wednesday morning, December 13, 2023. The Birmingham, Alabama native graduated from Jones Valley High School before earning his Bachelor of Science Degree from Auburn University.
Bill was a retired high school and college football coach, and a member of The Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. After playing football for the Auburn Tigers, he served as football coach for Banks High School, Woodlawn High School, Oxford High School, and Jacksonville State University.
