Wilfred Robert "Mike" Lewis

Wilfred R. "Mike" Lewis entered the gates of Heaven on Monday, December 12, 2022 at the age of 89 after a long battle with Dementia. He passed at his Hoover, Alabama home surrounded by his loving wife and children.

Mike was an Amite, Louisiana native and a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War. He worked at AT&T, retiring after 38 years of service. Upon retirement, he served as a volunteer with the AARP Tax Service for 20 years.

Mike was a member of First Baptist Church of Pelham, Alabama. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, T.W. and Ernestine Lewis, and a sister, Patricia Burnthorne.

Survivors include Mike's wife of 67 years, Carrie Lewis; children, Debbie Lewis, Sherry Allison (Ricky), and W. Robert Lewis, Jr. (Roslyn); grandchildren, Jason Pierce, Ashley Allison (Barry Burton), Kevin Allison, Christian Vallet, and Jacob Vallet; great-grandchildren, Danny Pierce and Briley Elyse Vallet; and sisters, Barbara Touchstone and Audrey Crawford (Bill).

The family will greet friends on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by A Service of Remembrance for Mike Lewis at 2 p.m. at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, AL 35115.
